TEMPERAMENT and PERSONALITY

Temperament: - Mild, but not too mild

Personality: John is a very likeable mare who acts a lot older than she is. She has good manners and doesn't try to push buttons. Her head is reasonable and for the most part she doesn't get all riled up when there's a lot of commotion. She is, however, quite the spitfire with the stallions and makes sure they know that she is to be respected, even if they are almost twice her size. John tolerates no back talk and she uses her teeth when she sees it fit.

She remembers who's done her wrong and she'll give you a warning before she strikes, but for the most part she's pleasant and treats everyone with a slight air of respectable distance. John doesn't act stupid, and she knows when to let go or pull up. She can take quite good care of herself. On the track, the jockeys say she's choppy and always at the back but she's a thinker and she holds her energy for that last bit of stretch. Short and sweet, John doesn't start off looking like a winner, but she's more than happy to leave those who doubt her in the dust.

She works part time as the workout buddy for the rowdy stallion, Sherlock. She keeps him in check and evokes a respectable response from the colt.
