It was a week before the competition. Winter and Tat had been working furiously for hours upon hours prior to that particular stretch of days. They left on Monday, as would many others, and the current day was Sunday.

It wasn’t very sunny.

The weather, as it often does, had turned on the people of OBM. Storms came daily and in numbers. Sometimes it drizzled, and other times it poured. You had to work with what you got.

Tat pulled her curtains back, blinking at the rain as it continued to downpour all over her property, knocking the internet connection out among other things. It was also stalling her last minute training time.

“It will let up soon enough, darling.” William cooed from nowhere, suddenly behind the shorter woman as she glared out the window. “No need to fret.”

Tat hadn’t moved, no longer freaked out by her butler/lover’s random appearances. “I know,” she began, “but it’s taking forever.”

William could only chuckle slightly. Tat had always been impatient. Most of the time she could grit and bear her teeth, but once her mind was set on something there was no waiting quietly. He rubbed her back as he passed by, leaving her side to do some cleaning and straighten the magazines on the coffee table.

They stayed in the room together, both of them waiting for one thing or another. Tat for the rain, and William to see that his mistress didn’t go crazy. The butler looked up as she shuffled, parting the curtains a bit more for him to see that it had let up, the trees overhead dripping the excess water from their leaves. “It’s almost-.” She was gone before he could finish.

The ground was wet and muddy and not ideal for riding. The Dressage ring was full of puddles and sloppy sand, sinking her boots when she trodded on it. Tat paid it little to no mind, intent on getting Winter’s final run in before the big event. They didn’t have much time.

The stallion (bless his heart) stood patiently even if the sand sucked his hooves below it surface and the air was thick with moisture. His nostrils flared as his rider seated herself in due time, gathering his reigns and encouraging him forward, despite the mud and the fact that dark clouds still loomed ominously overhead.

2nd training pic for the Olympics. I still have a sketch to finish coloring for Neighko. Bless her for being so patient with me. This vacation is lacking in adequate internet connections.
